By The Prophet of Life
What is the key to true faith? The answer to that question consists of one word: gratitude. Why gratitude? Because people who are truly faithful know and understand that life is a learning experience and God sends you what you need to learn the lessons your life has to teach you.
A Faithfully shallow person is like a sunshine patriot, they are happy to profess their faith and show gratitude in times of plenty, when everything is going their way. It takes a person of deep faith to profess their faith and show gratitude when life is hard everything seems to be going against them. Yet it is exactly people of deep faith that profit the most from times of challenge. This is because they are the ones who actually learn the lessons that the times of challenge are meant to teach them. They rarely repeat the mistakes that may have helped set them up for challenging times because they have learned the lessons.
People of shallow faith rarely learn the lessons that life is meant to teach them. They go through life looking only for the happy times and trying to forget the bad times. They never actually forget the bad times, however, they cling onto them, often unconsciously. They either repress them or try to mask them with addictions. Since they never learned the lessons that challenging times were meant to teach, they keep repeating the same mistakes and often face the same challenges over and over again.
Both people of shallow faith and people of deep faith pray. People of shallow faith pray for deliverance. People of deep faith pray for God’s will to be done. People of deep faith are almost always okay with the outcome of times of challenge is. People of shallow faith are rarely okay with it. People of deep faith, of true faith, thank God for the experience and are grateful for what they have learned from it. People of shallow faith become upset with God for not answering their prayer and not delivering them from the experience. They don’t see the lesson they should have learned because they are focused lack of avoidance of the experience instead of on the experience itself.
People of shallow faith depend on miracles and wish fulfillment to sustain their faith. People of deep faith, of true faith know that true faith does not depend on miracles or wish fulfillment to sustain itself. They are grateful for the experiences God sends to them, both good and bad because they know, that God only sends them experiences which can make them stronger from the lessons that they learn through them.
