Kidnapping, Slavery and Child Murder in Southern California

By The Prophet of Life

When most people think of sunny Southern California , they think of aspiring starlets, mall rats and surfer dudes.  People around the globe were stunned when the seamy underbelly of Southern California was exposed in two news stories that hit the wire services on the same day, a day which revealed abduction, enslavement and child murder.

The Sheriff’s Department was called to a home in Torrance California shortly after 5:00 PM. When they arrived, relatives of the people who lived there ushered them into the house. They found three little girls a 3 year old, a two year old and a two month old infant, lying on a bed covered in blood. They had all been stabbed to death. Next to them was a 30 year old woman. She was naked and she was also covered in blood. She was the girl’s mother. She had a kitchen knife clutched in her hand.  There were minor cut marks on her wrist. She was not a victim, she appeared to be the murderer.

The woman, Carol Coronado was arrested on suspicion of murder. Her husband, the girls’ father was working on his car across the street from the home when his mother in law discovered carol and the three girls in the bloody bed. Carol called her earlier that day and told her she was going crazy. Neighbors said that Carol seemed to be nice and her little girls were adorable. Family members said that the family had been going through some financial difficulties. The family is planning to have a car wash to raise money for the children’s funerals.

Not far from Torrance, in Bell Gardens California, police were called to a domestic dispute between a husband and wife. The next day, the woman appeared at the police station claiming that her husband abducted her when she was 15, held her against her will for 10 years and in that time physically, mentally and sexually abused her.  The woman’s mother did file a missing persons report in 2004 and periodically called the police to inquire about the search for her missing daughter.

The woman (who has remained unidentified as a possible victim of child abuse) claimed that she came from Mexico illegally in 2004 and was living with her mother and sister. She stormed out of the house after a fight between her and her mother when her mother’s boyfriend, Isidro Garcia, followed her to a park and convinced her that her family had disowned her and convinced her to go with him. Then he drugged her. She said he hid her from her family, and made her change her identity several times and then, after repeated abuse, forced her to marry him.  She said she had been in public with him and had not tried to tell people about her plight out of fear of being deported or of being beaten by her husband when they got behind closed doors. Neighbors said that the husband seemed to be hard working and devoted to his wife, often buying her nice things.

Things are not always as they seem. A seemingly nice mother with adorable children may be hold a hidden frustration or rage. A hard working, seemingly devoted family man may actually be a kidnaper and child molester. From the surface, many things look bright and cheerful. Its only when we look beneath the surface that we actually realize the flaws and deficiencies.
