Why Trump Won and What His Victory Means to America

By The Prophet of Life

There are a lot of people in the world who are shocked today. Donald Trump has been elected President of the United States of America. Some around the globe are saying things like “Never underestimate the stupidity of the American people.” Others are saying nothing but feeling dread when they think about the future.

Donald Trump won the election because he tapped into an anger and frustration throughout America. There are plenty of Americans who don’t feel that the system is working for them. They are tired of career politicians who promise the moon but deliver gridlock. Who count on their vote but don’t give them a second thought at election time. That group is Donald Trumps constituency.

Donald Trump won as a Republican despite the fact that the party elite didn’t support him. He ran on a platform of Republican values and 9 of 10 Republicans ended up voting for him as well as people who usually vote for fringe independent party. The Republican party members of congress will likely support him but if they don’t or if there is still gridlock, Trump can always tap into the rage of his constituency and form a third party and run his own slate for congress. If he did that, it could likely transform America from a two party to a three party system.

Now Trump calls on all Americans to bind the wounds of the past and seek unity. I am sure that many Americans would like to do that but can they leave behind their animosity and do that? When it comes to this new concept of a Trump Presidency, many Americans are hoping for the best but fearing the worst.

At its best, A Trump Presidency could reshape America into a more prosperous nation with full employment and a better life for all. Trump could bring new ideas and new approaches to solving America’s problems which, if tried, might just work.

At its worst, a Trump Presidency could become an economic disaster, stand by as Russia takes over Eastern Europe and the Middle East and China takes back Taiwan and overruns parts of Asia. It could set back advancements against global warming as well as advancements made by every minority group, immigrants and Women’s Rights. You could expect a Supreme Court that would likely repeal Roe Vs Wade and Reverse Gay Marriage. You could see the rise of a law and order police state where minorities continue to be gunned down or a war that drafts our youth.

A Trump America could be a place where pollution is rampant, abortion is illegal, the military industrial complex is reborn, differences aren’t respected or tolerated and hate crimes rise. It could be an America where millions have lost their health care, had their social security cut or pensions diminished or are just plain broke. Most of America will live in apartments because homes will be out of reach for an average American. More people will have jobs but they will not pay enough to afford a house and college will be out of reach for most children.

At both its best and worst, Trumps America will be a great place to be rich.

In Defense of Black Lives Matter

By The Prophet of Life

From The Book Black in America a Kindle e-book available worldwide through Amazon.

President Obama compared the Black Lives Matter to the Suffergete and Abolitionist movements. Newt Gingrich said that its very name black lives matter, was racist because it inferred that only black lives matter. The movement has drawn criticism for the radical things they have done to protest the perpetual slaughter of unarmed African American men and boys by armed, white police officers in America.

The Black Lives Matter movement does do more than just march down public sidewalks and in front of public buildings carrying protest signs and placards (although they do that too). The have blocked major public roadways with their bodies, shutting them down for hours. Some people among their group claiming to be their followers have gotten violent. The attack on the Dallas Police Department by a single, black assailant and the killings of two more African Americans at the hands of police officers this week, have exacerbated racial tensions. In my book Black in America, (available exclusively on Kindle) I wrote a piece of literature which I believe, explains why The Black Lives Matter Movement is called that. It Follows below:

Why We Say Black Lives Matter

When we say

Black Lives Matter

We are not saying that ONLY black lives matter

We do understand that All Lives Matter

And we are not negating that fact

When we say Black Lives Matter

We are issuing a call for JUSTICE

We are issuing a plea to stop the murder of our children

Who, as members of the human family, represent all of our children

And we wonder why we must call for justice

If we live in a Just Society

We wonder why there should even be a reason for us to call for justice

If we live in a Just Society

And we wonder why the blood of our children runs in the streets

Beneath the tainted shadow of racism

So next time you hear someone say

Black Lives Matter

Know that it is a call for justice

And think about

Why we need to call for justice

If we do, in fact,

Live in a Just Society

If you still think that the Black lives Matter movement is racist and that African Americans don’t have a real cause for concern about whether or not their men and boys will return alive, after leaving the house, and if you, after reading this article still believe that America actually is a Just Society then I suggest you ask yourself one more question. Would you have the same point of view if there was an epidemic of armed African American police officers killing unarmed white citizens?

The Commitment

I read an interesting short story that is a parallel to current world events in regards to terrorism. The story focuses on what is going through the mind of a suicide bomber as his mission draws near. It’s taken from a book 9: 9 Stories of Fiction on Kindle by Author Mark Wilkins. I wrote the publisher and obtained permission to re-print it here.

Here is a link to his author page:

https://www.amazon.com/Mark-Wilkins/e/B01BCK92IC/ref=ntt_dp_epwbk_1

Oofa Poofa made a commitment to join the terrorist organization. He came from a poor family in the village of Mamalulu Southeast Dadastan. He was opposed to the tyranny of President Gogo’s brutal regime. He hated the oppression against his village. He hated the persecution of his family for following the Mamasect instead of the more popular Dadasect that most of his nation followed. The previous regime had shown tolerance for his people but Presdient Gogo wanted to wipe Mamaism from the soil of Dadastan forever.

Oofa was indoctrinated into the terrorist mentality. He was given a constant verbal barrage listing the acts of oppression his people had struggled with all of his life. He learned that it wasn’t normal. He was made to believe in the virtue of dying for the cause. He was trained in military tactics and how to shoot a gun. He was trained on how to blend in with a crowd while being packed with explosives and how to pick targets.

Last night, he was sent to the nearby Military town of Kilakilla. He spent the night at a terrorist hideout disguised as a book store. He ate a wonderful meal, perhaps the best of his life. He filmed a video stating that he was opposed to the injustices his people had suffered. He gave cryptic goodbye messages to his friends and family without naming them.

Today was the day that he would make the ultimate sacrifice for Mamaism. He emerged from the terrorist hideout in the guise of a fat man. He walked down the narrow streets into the marketplace. He saw a group of the dreaded Mustafa Guards, President Gogo’s Elite Special Forces. As he walked towards them, one of the soldiers made a statement meant to imply that a fat slob was coming towards them.

As Oofa got closer, he began to have second thoughts. He knew that the government would condemn his actions. He knew they might take their anger out on his family. He knew that his death would be a tragedy.  He realized that he didn’t really want to die. He decided to turn around and walk away in the next five steps. He counted them off, one… two… three.

Just then, one of the soldiers noticed a wire hanging out from Oofa’s shirt. The soldier shouted something as he reached for his holster. Oofa knew it was too late for second thoughts. As the soldier drew his pistol, Oofa pressed the button. He didn’t do it as a result of his training. He didn’t do it out of a commitment for the cause. In the end, he did it because he knew he was going to die anyway. An explosion rocked the marketplace killing all of the soldiers. Oofa was a martyr for Mamaism. Or was he?

Third Health Care Worker Treating First U.S. Ebola Patient Quaranteend for Possible Ebola

By The Prophet of Life
A Health Care Worker who may have handled a specimen from Eric Thomas Duncan has been quarantined on a Carnival cruise ship in the Caribbean. Personnel on the ship, the Texas based Carnival Magic, this was done to protect other passengers from possible contamination. The woman reportedly has not shown any symptoms of the virus. This is the 19th day of the 21 day incubation period from the time of contact to the time when Ebola begins showing symptoms in those who contract it. If Ebola is actually proven to be on the ship, it might not be allowed to dock anywhere.

A Second Health care worker who treated Eric Thomas Duncan, the first Ebola Patient Diagnosed in the U,S, has tested positive. Amber Vincent contracted the virus and showed symptoms while on a trip to Cleveland. She got on the plane returning to Dallas with a temperature. Vincent was isolated within 90 minutes of reporting a high temperature at work and has been sent to Emery University Hospital in Atlanta GA by private jet. Nina Pham, the First nurse who contracted the virus from Duncan, is in good condition at the Texas Hospital where Duncan was treated and died. The hospital’s protocols for protecting its workers have been called into question. A Spokesman for Emery University Hospital in Atlanta Georgia stated that none of their health care workers contracted Ebola despite the fact that they have treated three Ebola patients, Americans who contracted the virus in Africa. Several people who came into contact with Duncan before he was admitted to the hospital are being monitored for Ebola symptoms.

Eric Thomas Duncan, The First Ebola Patient Diagnosed in the U.S. Died today. he came from Liberia. He helped take a sick woman to the hospital on September 16th and she died of Ebola a few days later. Mr. Duncan either came to the U.S. to visit relatives or to seek better treatment for Ebola than he could get in Liberia. He was treated with an experimental drug, put on dialysis and a respirator but died anyway.

The first case of Ebola has been diagnosed in a patient in the United States. He came on a plane from Liberia to visit relatives in Texas. The Plane arrived on September 20th. According to doctors, the man showed no signs of infection when arriving in the U.S. but became sick on September 24, four days after arriving.

Two days later he went to a hospital and was put in isolation pending outcome of tests. The tests proved he tested positive for the Ebola Virus. The patient remains in isolation. The man was not a health care worker or a mortician so how he came into contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person is unclear. Coming into contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person is the main way most people contract Ebola.

Officials from the CDC stated that it is almost impossible for Ebola to spread in the U.S. to the point that it has in some nations in West Africa because of America’s “Robust” health care system. The current outbreak of Ebola has claimed thousands of lives in West Africa.

Are You Where You Want To Be In Your Life?

By The Prophet of Life

It’s a good practice to review your life periodically to see where you are in regards to where you want to be. We all have dreams. We all have goals. Reviewing your life periodically can help you clarify whether or not you are achieving them. First, take a look at the seven major areas that make up your life and assess where or not you are satisfied with them. The seven areas are food, shelter, family life, social life, close friendships, love life, working life and growth.

You should ask yourself questions about each of the areas of your life. Are your food and shelter needs taken care of? Do you have good family relations? Do you have a social network that can support you? Do you have any really close friends who you can confide in? How is your love life? How is your work life? Are you in a career you love or just in a job? Are you growing or just staying the same?

Where you are in each of these areas in reference to your happiness, usually depends on how close you are to goals you had made previously. People who are usually happy are either satisfied with their progress towards the goals they have set or they have no goals. People who are unhappy with any particular areas of dissatisfied with their life overall usually are not satisfied with their progress in achieving their goals.

When we are children, we often have no real responsibilities. We don’t have to earn money to buy food or pay the rent. Because of this, when we are children, we can dream big because there are no obstacles to stop us. We imagine the life we want to have when we become adults. As we grow, the responsibilities pile up. We need to get good grades in school. We want to make enough money to buy something we desire. We get married and have to raise a family. The accompanying stresses also pile on. All of them grind us down little by little until we either have to alter our original dream of what our life would be like or defer the date we expect to achieve our goal.

In reality, where you are in life is where you actually want to be. This is because you have, all through the process made choices that affect your progress towards achieving your goal. You have made choices that help you towards reaching your goal and you have made choices which have impeded you from reaching your goal. In some instances, the choices you made that impeded you from reaching your goal were choices you couldn’t help. In some situations the choice which impeded you was the ONLY choice you could have made. They may not have been technically your fault but you did make the choice and have to live with its consequences. It may not seem fair but life happens and the choices you make determine where you are in life.

If, after your life review, you find you need to improve in a couple of areas, begin to plan, step by step, how you will improve. What work needs to be done? How much effort needs to be applied? What time, finances or education needs to be changed to allow you to put the time and effort to achieve growth in the area you want to improve? Finally, if all else fails, give yourself a reality check. If you keep on working towards a goal and never make sufficient progress, then perhaps the goal is unrealistic. It may not be impossible to achieve it but given the time, effort and education you have, or have to devote to it, it may be unrealistic.

We all have goals. We all have dreams. We don’t all achieve them. Those that do achieve their goals often plan work and progress incrementally towards them. They put the appropriate amount of time and effort into them. They make sacrifices. They make the choices that support achieving the goal. A Periodic Life Review can help put your progress in focus and by doing so, empower you to achieve your goals.

What You Have Done For Me Lord

By The Prophet of Life

I was an orphan in the house of humanity

And you adopted me

I was afflicted with the maladies of a beaten down life

And you transformed me

I saw the world as a child, transfixed upon my own ego

And you showed me the world beyond myself

I was idle

And you showed me the work to be done

I was boastful

And you showed me the power of humility

I was hopeless

And you showed me the miracles that are all around me

I wallowed in the filth of my own desires

And you cleansed me

I was ashamed

And you told me I had nothing to feel guilty about

I was guilty

And you showed me limitless forgiveness

I was alone

And you befriended me

I felt unworthy

And you rebuilt my self-respect

I was numb

And you breathed new life into my soul

I was powerless

And you empowered me

Malala Yousufzai Wins Nobel Peace Prize

By The Prophet of Life
She was on a school bus coming home from school. A man got on the bus. He asked other students to identify her. Then the man walked up to her and shot her in the head.

The girl’s name is Malala Yousufzai. The 14 year old Pakistani schoolgirl survived the attempted assassination by the Taliban. Why would the Taliban try to assassinate a 14 year old girl? Because they are afraid of her.

Why is the Taliban afraid of a 14 year old girl? Because she is not afraid to stand up for the right of girls in Pakistan to receive an education.

Malala had attended a school in Mingora Pakistan. Until the Taliban forced it to close. Then, she wrote a blog for the BBC under an alias. The Blog told the world about what it was like for a teenage girl to live under Taliban rule. The alias insured her safety because everyone knows bullies and cowards only strike out when they know the identity of those who stand up to them.

When her school was reopened, Malala began appearing on talk shows and public gatherings advocating for the right of girls to receive an education in Pakistan. The Taliban took this as a threat since they knew who it was they felt threatened by they struck at their defenseless target.

It takes a lot of courage for a grown man to shoot an unarmed 14 year old girl in the head. It takes a lot of fear to force a cowards hand and the Taliban sanctioned

this cowardly act. I call upon the Nation of Pakistan to provide an education for all of its females as well as all males. I call upon the people of Pakistan to defy the corrupt overtures and attempted rule of thugs & cowards. They may claim to represent Allah but they do not. For Allah NEVER uses cowards and thugs to make his will known. I call upon the people of the world to unite in their resolve and take action to stop this from happening not only in Pakistan, but in every nation of the world. I pray to God for Malala’s swift recovery and I pray to Allah for justice in Malala’s name and for all the other unnamed girls like her who
are suffering because of similar injustices. Malala has since recovered and she has spoken about her cause before the United Nations. Today the now 17 year old now won the Nobel Prize of Peace.
