The World Will Not End on 9/23/17

There are several prominent prophecies about 9/23/17 being a day of bad omens. One links a prophecy from the Bible’s Book of Revelations about a virgin giving birth as the dawning of the dawning time of tribulation. Others interpret it as the birth of the Antichrist. There actually will be a planetary alignment in which the stars in the constellations of Leo (power) and Virgo (the Virgin) and the sun, the moon and several planets in our solar system on that day.

This unusual alignment of stars and planets will have some magnetic effect on Earth but it will not cause the end of the planet. It will not trigger the birth of the antichrist. It will not trigger the beginning of tribulations. It will, however, augment whatever perceptions or beliefs people already have. Until it passes and people realize that 9/23/17 didn’t trigger anything significant at all.

On Creating… The short movie One Small Candle

The Prophet of Life On Creating The Short Film “One Small Candle”

I wanted to create something that would inspire people all over the world. I wanted to illustrate the power of faith during difficult circumstances. I decided to illustrate this through portraying the story of a poor young woman living in a violent neighborhood of a major city. The story embraces the new Cultureblend genre of literature. It is not based on any actual person from a particular culture. It is based on a blending of person created from a cultures to create a composite of a person in a blended culture.  The setting is not in a particular culture, a particular place or in a particular time.nation.  I am certain there are millions of people in exactly the same circumstances as the main character from various cultures .

It began as the lyrics to a song. Then I transformed it into a story poem for a book I wrote entitled Revelations of 2012 (this book was only issued in paperback and only a few hundred copies exist so if you can find one, snap it up).

When I wrote the poem, I wanted people to get a sense of what the main character goes though on a daily basis. I wanted them to notice how one small act she does, consistently inspires others over time. I thought that perhaps if people saw something in this story poem, they might look at their own lives and think about what small act they could do consistently to inspire others.

I do believe that there is a cause effect relationship in every act we perform whether it is positive or negative. This poem and short film are meant to illustrate that in an inspirational way. I kept the film short and simple. There are no pictures, just words on a black screen and gentle background music. And subtle special effects that hit you when you least expect it.  It tells an entire story, in rhyme in about two minutes. So spend two minutes and watch One Small Candle.

One Small Candle

One Small Candle

VERSE 1

She lived in the middle of the city

But felt like she was living in hell

She wondered how she ended up here

And felt dread as the night fell

She felt so isolated

And scarred by broken dreams

She fell asleep serenaded by

Gunshots, moans and screams

She lit one small candle

And put it next to her window

To fight against the darkness

And let the world know

That one small candle

One soul to stand for right

One small candle

To keep away the night

VERSE 2

She felt like that small candle

As she struggled every day

To walk towards her goals while surrounded by

Those who lost their way

She was assaulted by temptations

Hammered by neglect

But kept on walking anyway

One step following the next

She lit one small candle

And put it next to her window each night

VERSE 3

This went on for years

And things got better over time

She struggled every day

And lit a candle every night

One night before turning in

She looked out and to her surprise

Saw 10,000 other candles

Drowning the darkness with their light

One small candle

Was able to conquer the night

The Woman Who Has not Eaten A Morsel of Food for 14 Years

By The Prophet of Life

What is more important, ones personal spiritual conscience or a Government Policy? Government policy is meant to benefit the many, personal conscience is product of the philosophy of an individual. Which is more important? At what point and under what circumstances should a person follow thier personal spiritual conscience even when it flies in the face of their government?

One ritual in faith is self denial through fasting. One ritual of faith for those who are trying to changethings politically is going on a hunger strike. Irom Sharmiia hasn’t eaten for 14 years. She began a hunger strike to protest India’s Armed Forces Special Powers Act which suspends some rights in Northeastern India where there are problems with separatist insurgents. The law gives police and military officials powers in search and seizure, allows them to arrest without warrant and even allows them to kill suspected rebels.

In keeping with India’s laws against suicide, she has been kept imprisoned in a government hospital and force fed through a tube. Once a year, for the past 14 years she has been set free to see if she will start eating again. She never does. So back to prison she goes. Sharmila has said that she isn’t fasting to commit suicide only to protest the law until it is repealed. She has never resisted being force fed through a tube.

Is Irom Sharmila someone to be admired or is she just wasting her life? Is her hunger strike heroic or stupid? Please comment and let us know what you think her saga says about individual conscience Vs Government Policies or any other topics you believe her saga addresses.

The Secret of Success

“When your mind, body and spirit are synchronized you are in tune with the ebb and flow of the universe. When you are in tune with the ebb and flow of the universe, you see possibilities that you never noticed before. When you see the new possibilities you act to create new possibilities. When you create new possibilities that are in tune with the ebb and flow of the universe, you become one with the universe.  When you are one with the universe, the universe replies with total acceptance.” —The Prophet of Life

The Root Cause of Global Political Conflict

By The Prophet of Life

Battles raging between Israel & Palestine, Russia and Ukraine and in Iraq, Syria and Libya. Disease is more difficult to contain. The Ebola virus is spreading from a few nations in Africa to other parts of the world. Many people are asking themselves one question, why? Why is there so much global conflict?

Humanity has gone through more changes in the last 200 years than it had in the previous five thousand. This is because humanity has been passing from adolescence into adulthood. Our adulthood officially began on December 21, 2012. At that time a change occurred, but like most changes it merely was the beginning of a change, imperceptible to almost everyone. As time unfolds, however, the change shall become more apparent.

The narrow minded, selfish politics is the root cause of political strife across the globe. Leaders look at things solely from the point of view of their own nation, culture, religion or religious sect. People who look at things this way, advocating solely for their own group, often rise to power within that group. They are looked at as a voice or a champion for that group. It is that narrow mindedness that put them into a leadership position and, as we have seen with many leaders over time, once in power, few have the desire or courage to give that power up.

A new day is dawning in the global community. There is now, a strong global interdependence. No nation has the all of the natural resources it needs to completely sustain its people. In order to survive, all nations must trade goods with one another. The economy of individual nations depend on global economics. Because of this, conflicts are no longer regional because they have global consequences.

Those whose customs, views, religious practices and political actions go against the norms of the global community run the risk of being ostracized by the global community.  Ostracization (a word which I have created but will in time, be in vogue as the practice is implemented across the globe) can include a host of travel, economic and trade sanctions that can devalue currencies and ruin economies. Repressive regimes have been falling all across the globe. This will continue. Although there will be despots who cling to power until the bitter end, the end will come in time. A new leadership shall arise which looks at things from a global perspective.

There is a popular saying: “Think globally, act locally”. This has been the mantra of many for the last several decades. It is time for a new mantra: “Think Globally, act globally.”  Events will transpire which shall continue to drive home the point that we must live in harmony. That there must be mutual respect. That we must work cooperatively. The problems we are now facing and shall continue to face will be monumental in scale. So monumental that we will have to work cooperatively to survive. Take heart, nothing breeds harmony like adversity.

There are some who will think that this will fulfill a new world order, the rise of the antichrist, the end of the world or some other horrible consequence but they are wrong. In reality it is just part of our maturing process.  It will, in the end fulfill the destiny of our race, the human race, for there is only one race and we are, despite what others may tell you, all one people under the blood.

As a soul, you as an individual go from one incarnation to another, one culture to another, one nation to another. You have experiences from one life to the next and, if you are wise, you learn lessons from them that last from one incarnation to the ones which follow. Humanity as a whole has a collective soul.  The soul of humanity as a whole has a collective consciousness which learns collective lessons and has a collective destiny.

God only sends challenges to make us stronger and to prepare the way. It may not happen in our lifetime but in time, humanity will take its place, not as citizens of one global community but as citizens of a universal community. The lessons we shall learn during the times that shall follow will prepare us for this.

Is America Suffering From Cell Phone Addiction?

By The Prophet of Life

Recently, a restaurant in New York City wanted to find out why they were getting bad reviews. The reviews mostly focused on two areas, long wait times and cold food. They suspected their staff might be slower than they used to be. They engaged a security company to review their digital security footage and find out what was causing the problems that were being complained about. The security company personnel analyzed the digital footage of a typical lunch hour at the restaurant by comparing it to a security tape from 2004 to see if they could detect any differences.

In the 2004 tape, customers were seated promptly, and handed a menu. The customers averaged 8 minutes of looking at the menus. The Wait Staff, attuned to this fact came over within an average of one minute of customers closing their menu. Orders were taken in an average of 30 seconds per customer. The food began to be cooked within 6 minutes of the order and was served an average of 15 minutes after that. The customers finished their meals and left the restaurant. The whole process from seating to leaving to an average of 55 minutes.

The 2014 digital recording showed some startling differences. Customers generally had to wait for a table longer because people spent longer at the tables. Customers were seated and handed menus. Most customers spent at least five minutes engaged with their cell phones before even opening their menus. While they are looking at their menus they are still engaged with their cell phones. Waiters come to the table asking if they are ready to order, most people ask for more time. When people finally order an average of 21 minutes after they had been seated, they continue engaging with their cell phones. When the food comes, most people take photos of it and of themselves and their friends posing with the food. Many send the food back because by the time they decide to eat it, it is cold. Many waiters spend many extra minutes with customers answering their questions about the Restaurants WIFI, being shown things on customer cell phones or taking several photos of customers with the customers cell phones. Which impacts the Wait Staffs ability to serve other customers. The average customer spends almost two hours in the restaurant.

We have become a world of people addicted to cell phones. We carry them everywhere. We rarely divert our glances from them. We make calls but spend more time texting, surfing the internet, streaming music or videos and taking or reviewing photos. How often do you hear about car accidents caused by people texting while driving? If we, as a race, the human race, don’t wean ourselves off of this addiction you can expect a lot of changes in the way things are done.

It will become normal for people not to talk to one another face to face. It will become normal for people to get their news from You Tube or blogs instead of credible news organization. It will be normal for parents to give their toddlers a cell phone and leave them unattended for hours at a time. It will become normal for school districts to replace the focus of education on teachers and on cell phones while students of all ages are texting, sexting. Cyber bullying or surfing pornography in their classrooms.  It will become normal for airline pilots and bus drivers to surf the internet, watch movies and text while driving. It will become normal for firefighters to finish viewing that you tube video or texting someone before entering a burning building. It will become normal for doctors to text while operating on patients.

People will grow apart from one another. People will have a diminished capacity at their work. People will have diminished enjoyment of their lives. They will lose precious time which could be spent playing sports, writing a great work of literature or curing a disease. If you don’t think that this article pertains to you, or that you aren’t addicted to your cell phone, try going without your cell phone for one week.

See if you last the week and if you do, see how often you think about what you are missing out on without your cell phone because with it, you are missing out on your life.
