Is pandemonium coming?

I saw this strange video today. I am unsure what it means but it intrigued me. See what you think.

What is cool?

Recently, the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch said that he didn’t want people who weren’t cool buying his clothes. Despite the fact that it isn’t cool to use a double negative in a sentence (it’s just ignorant), the fact that he said something like that would deny him the right to wear anything from his own clothing line. The statement, as lame as it was, got me to thinking.

What is cool? How do most of us determine what “cool” is? There are many who say that cool is something you either have or don’t,. They say its natural and cannot be learned or taught. I disagree with some of that. First of all, cool is a matter of perception. What is or is not cool is different for different groups of people. Secondly, I think that what is cool can be analyzed and once analyzed, common factors among the cool can be isolated. Once isolated, they can be developed in anybody.

I’ve known a lot of cool people in my life. I have also known about media celebrities who are considered cool. I sat down and made a list of the factors many of them have in common. Here are the results. Most people considered cool are not trying to be cool, they are merely being themselves. They are independent minded. They don’t follow trends but because a part of their independence is having their own independent sense of style, they can influence or even start trends.

They are very often down to earth. They are often able to keep things in perspective and don’t get too caught up in themselves or the hype surrounding them. They not afraid to speak their mind but usually only on important issues .They are often selfless and give back. They are often involved in fund raisers or are spokespeople for charity. They often don’t show petty emotions in public. It is often that when cameras catch them being too stuck up or worried about their image, or having a tirade, especially about something self-centered or unimportant, that they instantly become uncool.

So, to recap, cool people are independent minded. They don’t follow trends and have their own sense of style. They are down to earth, selfless, and not afraid to speak their mind on important issues. They give back. Perhaps cool people are considered cool because they stand out from the crowd. If you want to be cool try cultivating some of these things. Even if you aren’t considered cool after that, at least you will have the consolation that you are a better person.

By The Prophet of Life

Its 7:00 A.M. in the quiet bedroom community of Murrysville Pennsylvania. Many early bird students are just arriving at school, others have been there for a half an hour or so. Imagine that you are a student at that high school walking casually up a hallway. You sees a teen run past another student down the hall from you. As the boy runs past, the student shrieks in pain and bends over. The running boy holds a knife. Glints of red are streaked across the blade. He is now running towards you. .

This is must have been like to be at Franklin High in Murrysville PA this morning as a teen ran through the school stabbing people with a knife. As many as 20 people have been stabbed. At least four were transported to a hospital in critical condition. As emergency personnel descended upon the school, A large number of students were seen running away from the high school. Others were bent over in pain.

The boy with the knife, 16 year old Alex Hribal, is in custody. On its website, the school posted a message to parents that read, “A critical incident has occurred at the high school. All elementary schools are cancelled, the middle school and high school students are secure..” Whether or not he was a student at the school is not yet known. The motive for the stabbings is also unknown at this point. All that is known is that the there has been a severe disruption in the spiritual tranquility of a suburb of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, one that has changed the lives of 21 people and an entire community.
